It took a game-changing sequence to turn this one around and give the Rangers 10 road wins, the most in the East.

The save by Henrik Lundqvist on Cody Hodgson’s breakaway to preserve the one-goal lead in the third, immediately followed by Brad Richards’ PPG. As I wrote in the main story, a perfect scenario for a goalie, as Lundqvist said.

The Rangers are 5-15 (33.3) with the man advantage in the last five games, and as mentioned in the preview earlier, quashed the Sabres PP. No shots on two ops.  The PK has held opponents scoreless in 10 of the last 12 games (28-30, 93.3).

You know who played very well? Again?  Besides Nash and Richards?

Ryan McDonagh. With two assists, he became the first Rangers defenseman to post a five-game point streak since Aaron Ward in the 2006-07 season and is a career-high.

And kudos to Mats Zuccarello. A goal and assist and four shots.

Around 1 am, the coach cancelled today's scheduled practice in Westchester in advance of weekend home back-to-back against  Devils and Capitals. If I'm AV, I start Mr. Lundqvist in both and if he wants Cam Talbot to play, the Preds visit Tuesday

So today, I'll be pulling together my Sunday Insider and maybe squeezing in a little holiday shopping
