“We were down 1-0,” said Prust, who engaged Neil at 15:10 of the first period. “Whenever I’m fighting, it’s usually not for me, it’s to get the guys going. I think most of it’s just trying to get the guys going, to get a little spark, a little jump…maybe a little bit for Boyler, too.”
Neil, who may have had the edge in the fight, raised an arm to implore the home crowd to cheer and skated off with both arms in the air.

But Brad Richards, who had a goal and assist, said the lift on the Rangers bench was vital to getting the Rangers back in the game. “It started with Prust,” he said. “You can tell he wanted this one.”

Senators coach Paul MacLean wasn’t happy with his club. “They (the Rangers) sure came out and played and we didn’t match the level of desperation,” he said. “I would’ve liked to see us play harder. I’m not sure we had focus tonight, thought we were distracted.”
