Prospects preview: Game 2 vs Stars, 6 p.m. tonight
One in the books against the Blues. Let's see 'em do it again with a short turnaround.
Thinking the Stars prospects (who scored 8 goals in a win against Carolina on Saturday) won't be called for 11 penalties. Rangers youngsters will have to score five-on-five, although the PP moved the puck really well for kids who hadn't practiced together. They will probably face USA goaltender Jack Campbell, a first-round pick. Keep an eye on Matt Fraser (hat trick vs Canes), Scott Glennie and Stephen Schultz, born in Westbury, LI.
If you followed me at twitter/stevezipay last night (I refrained from tweets this morning out of respect for the 9/11 anniversary and probably won't return until gametime), you'll know I thought highly of the performances of Tim Erixon, Dylan McIlrath, Blake Parlett, Ryan Bourque, Carl Hagelin, Christian Thomas, Andrew Yogan and Jon Audy-Marchessault.
Off the ice, how great was it to hear JD's insights and humor!
Thought some of the players looked nervous/gassed. WIll be interesting to watch the recovery against what appears to be a better squad.
More Rangers
