Raleigh Quick hits: Dorsett in, Carc out; Lundqvist aims for 301
1. Fourth-liner Dan Carcillo, who has played 21 consecutive games, will ride the pine tonight against the Canes, and Derek Dorsett, who has played just twice in the last five games, gets the call.
"I know I can play," said Dorsett. "I felt I was playing well, then I break my leg (blocking a shot on Jan. 3). Now I'm fighting for a job. All I can do is bury my head and keep working." Says he'll use the pressure to play well as motivation.
2. Henrik Lundqvist shoots for his 301st win tonight, which would tie Mike Richter as the franchise leader. Lundqvist first met Richter when he came to New York as an 18-year-old and was nervous when introduced to him. Called it inspiring. More on that later.
3. Same lines, d-pairs otherwise. Falk, Diaz healthy scratches.
4. AV noted that he felt John Moore, since playing regularly with D Kevin Klein, is more comfortable on the left side. Moore has recorded two assists in the past two games.
5. The Rangers, who could win their 20th road game of the season tonight, will practice here tomorrow and then fly to Minnesota.
More later pre-game...
