With Emerson Etem ailing, the Rangers have called up Tanner Glass from Hartford for Wednesday night’s game against the Islanders in Brooklyn.
“The Islanders have a physical game, they play a hard game, and Glasser helps us in that area,” Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said.
Glass, 31, who cleared waivers on Oct. 21, compiled 192 penalty minutes in 135 games the past three seasons with the Blueshirts. He is expected to play with Dominic Moore and Jarret Stoll on the fourth line against the Islanders.
Etem did not skate in Tuesday’s optional practice in Greenburgh, and Vigneault said he did not “turn the corner overnight,” necessitating the call-up.
