So it's second place for the (2-1-1) Baby Blueshirts. Were down 2-0 and battled back to tie at the end of two periods, then some turnovers and bounces cost them against a bigger, more experienced, and talented Buffalo team in the 3rd.

Best showing since 2007 though. Liked the effort, for sure.

Thought before tourney that the three players who had a shot at being in NHL sometime this season were Tim Erixon, Carl Hagelin and Ryan Bourque. Nothing changed my mind.

JT Miller, for 18, was very good. Christian Thomas and Dylan McIlrath need more seasoning.

Overall, this team needs to address the power forward/scoring winger issue in the 2012 draft.  Except for BC's Chris Kreider, no forward with Top 6 skills is 6-3.  There's too many who are swift, but undersized.

All the D except Erixon should be Hartford/Greenville bound. McIlrath should go back  to Moose Jaw.

After camp, that is, which opens Friday.
