The Rangers have agreed to terms with 28-year-old free agent defenseman Brendan Bell, the team announced today.

Bell (6-2, 211) has played in 101 NHL games since being selected by Toronto in the third round of the 2001 draft, including stints with the Maple Leafs, Coyotes and Senators.

The Ottawa, Ontario native finished with two goals and nine assists in 29 games last season with Biel of the Swiss A League. Bell also appeared in one game for Omsk Avangard of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League.
