That's the third UFA player in the Rangers bottom-six who has fled.
Of the three, (John Mitchell, Colorado and Brandon Prust, Montreal) Feds, at 33, is the oldest, and therefore the one I believed most likely to depart when coach John Tortorella said the team would be getting younger.
Remember, he played in Philly before, from 1999-2002. I like Feds, who didn't have the best season (9-11-20), but a very good playoff run, with two goals and five assists and quality penalty kills. The Rangers will miss he and Prust on that element of special teams.
It's a one-year deal, which he joked on break-up day that he was used to playing under, and reportedly a $300,000 raise to $1.7 mil.
So another opening for a grinding, depth forward on your Blueshirts.
