Ryan McDonagh joining KHL
D Ryan McDonagh has become the third Ranger to shift overseas and the first to join the KHL.
McDonagh, 23, the Wisconsin grad who paired admirably with Dan Girardi last season, signed a deal with Barys Astana in Kazakhstan, his agent confirmed after a report from Russia.
The deal allows the Massachusetts native to return to New York when the NHL lockout ends. He was 7-25-32 in 82 games for the Rangers last season.
Rick Nash is currently playing in Davos, Switzerland and Carl Hagelin just joined his former team in Sweden, Sodertalje.
