Although RFA Erik Christensen rejected a two-year offer of about $1.5 million over two years, the door isn't shut.  The Rangers believe it is a fair offer and that he could return. GM Glen Sather gave the center another opportunity to play in the NHL by claiming him off waivers last Dec. 2, and now a chance for some security.

The Rangers front office and coach also want Jody Shelley to return, and there's a two-year offer that reportedly includes a $100,000-plus raise per season, on the table....

At prospects camp tomorrow and am preparing a free agent preview and chart for Thursday festivities. Will be tweeting and blogging all day, although I really don't expect the Rangers to be major players. They will get a backup goaltender, either Thursday or later...
