Folks, you can look at that headline two ways:

That being mostly unplugged and away from the grind is a beautiful and essential respite for an in-season, 24/7 chap like me.

"Vacation rules" also implies that the parameters while away are different.

So when I checked in this morning and saw more than 200 comments, well, I have to reference the old sod Hubert H. Humphrey and say that I'm pleased as punch (well, spiked tropical punch) to see the responses....

Also pleased to see that the equally dedicated Andrew Gross did what I would've done had I been around this week: Tap into the thoughts of Coach Torts. So check that on his Rangers Rants.

I also would be swinging by the Gahden to speak with Frolov and Avery before tonight's MSG appearance on Knicks Live at 8 (check your local listings).  But you can watch that. Me, I'll catch a replay. (Wonder if we'll find out what jersey number Fro will wear: His LA 24 is gone with Callahan; his international 42 is worn by Anisimov. One possibility: 31, which he wore with the Soviet Wings before joining the Kings. Generally a goalie number, but Biron will most likely keep his 43.)

Thanks again to colleague Arthur Staple for staying on top of the news while I've gone fishin' and strummin'....

             Enjoy....

I'll stop by over the weekend here and may jump in on twitter.com/stevezipay for commentary if motivated....
