Where does Derek Stepan fit?
"Derek Stepan continues to battle for where he fits," Torts said when asked today. "Positionally?" I asked. "Yes."
Tortorella is debating whether the fit is LW or C, and some of that puzzle involves the No. 1 line. Wojtek Wolski has fared very well there in scrimmages, and is pencilled in to play there tomorrow in Newark, I beleive.
The coach said that Brian Boyle will get a look there, and so will Brandon Dubinsky. although he re-affirmed his positive feelings for the Dubi-Anisimov-Callahan line. "Can Boyle move to left wing?", Torts mused.
Today, Stepan was centering a line with Mats Zuccarello and Mike Rupp.
