Down 3-1, the Rangers struck twice in 27 seconds, when, on a 4 on 4, Erik Christensen spun back into the left circle and buzzed a shot past Howard at 11:37. Then Alex Frolov stole the puck from Jakub Kindl at mid-ice, broke in 2 on 1 with Anisimov and the sophomore center tied the game shorthanded. A fourth Wings goal was immediately waved off when Holmstrom was deemed in the crease as he tried to screen Biron. The Rangers also defended a long 5 on 3 near the end of the session, blocking shots and breaking up passes, as Biron made two big saves. Rangers have not allowed a PP goal in eight periods so far.
