Charles Jenkins had 30 points to help Hofstra to its third straight win, 82-69, over host Delaware last night. The victory is the sixth in seven games for the Pride (15-13, 8-8 CAA).

Jenkins knocked down five three-pointers as did Cornelius Vines (18 points), who had a school-record tying seven threes on Saturday. It was the first time since Feb. 24, 2007 that two Hofstra players had five three-pointers.

Jawan Carter scored 18 points for Delaware (7-20, 3-13), which was swept by Hofstra for the second straight season.

Hofstra's last seven wins have all been by at least 10 points. The closest victory came in the previous meeting with Delaware, a 77-67 win on Jan. 30.

"I just see them as W's,'' said Hofstra coach Tom Pecora. "Everyone plays everyone at least once in the CAA so it levels out. We played a tough January schedule and fought through some injuries, but we kept working hard even when things weren't going our way, and we're starting to see some progress."

Hofstra also locked up the seventh seed in next month's CAA Tournament in Richmond and will play its first game, March 5 at 6 p.m., against the 10th seed.

Said Pecora: "If we can continue to play like this the rest of the way and have some confidence going into Richmond we can go down there and mix things up a little.''

Hofstra hosts Rider on Saturday in a 4 p.m. Bracket Buster contest. The Pride is 4-0 in Bracket Buster games.
