Kings Park's Mike Soria forfeits final to twin brother Max
Mike Soria of Kings Park forfeited the 103-pound final to his twin brother Max Saturday to reciprocate Max's gesture last season.
The seniors, who have never wrestled each other in a competition, made news last year when Max forfeited to Mike in the state semifinals. Mike went on to win the 96-pound title; Max was third.
"I already had a county title and he didn't have one," Mike said after Max got his hand raised. "So why should I have two and he have zero?"
As the Suffolk champion, Max receives an automatic bid to the state tournament. Mike is a virtual lock to receive a wild-card berth as a defending champion.
