Maia Hood (17 points, 10 rebounds) made a putback layup at the buzzer to propel No. 4 NYIT over No. 1 LIU Post, 80-78, in a East Coast Conference semifinal Saturday afternoon at Roberts Wesleyan.

Shannon Doyle (eight points) made a three-pointer with 14.2 seconds left for LIU Post to tie the score at 78.

The Bears, who were the only team to beat the Pioneers in conference play during the regular season, overcame a 16-point halftime deficit.

Nina Vukosavljevic had 19 points, five rebounds and seven assists, and Taylor Tripptree and Shalie Frierson had 16 points apiece in the win. Mikaiya Moore led LIU Post (22-7) with 19 points.

NYIT (19-11) will face No. 2. St. Thomas Aquinas on Sunday at noon at Roberts Wesleyan in the championship game. The winner advances to the NCAA tournament.

New Hampshire 71, Stony Brook 54: Shania Johnson had a team-high 24 points as No. 4 Stony Brook fell to No. 5 New Hampshire in the quarterfinal round of the America East Championship. The Seawolves finished the season 18-12.

Northeastern 58, Hofstra 54: Boogie Brozoski scored 19 points as Hofstra (5-13) fell in its final Colonial Athletic Association regular season game. Olivia Askin made a three-pointer with 20 seconds remaining in the game to bring the Pride within two, but Jess Genco sunk two free throws with 13 seconds left to seal the win for Northeastern.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Mount Saint Vincent 89, SUNY-Old Westbury 64: Alan McDonald scored 15 points as No. 6 SUNY-Old Westbury fell to No. 3 Mount Saint Vincent in the first round of the Skyline Conference Championship. The Panthers finished the season 12-14.

Bridgeport 79, Molloy 69: Curtis Jenkins scored 20 points and Nick Corbett added 19, as No. 5 Molloy fell to No. 1 Bridgeport in a ECC semifinal. Molloy finished the season 9-21.

MEN’S LACROSSE

Stony Brook 11, Fairfield 9: Patrick Kaschalk scored three goals and added two assists to lead Stony Brook (1-4) in non-conference. The Seawolves led 9-3 at halftime. Jack Walsh added three assists and Tom Haun added two goals and an assist in the win.

Adelphi 21, AIC 2: Nicolas Racalbuto scored six goals to lead Adelphi in its NE-10 conference opener. Dylan Crossan had one goal and six assists in the win.

NYIT 10, Bentley 9: Matt Chanenchuk scored the game-winning goal with 1:51 left in overtime to lead NYIT (2-3) in non-conference. Chanenchuk had four goals and an assist and Matt Murphy added a goal and an assist in the win. Mike Sofia scored an unassisted goal for the Bears with 5:09 left in regulation to even the score at 9.

Molloy 18, Post University 3: Tim Steinman had four goals and four assists to lead Molloy (2-2) in non-conference.

Pace 12, LIU Post 7: Dylan Harned scored three goals for LIU Post (2-1) in non-conference. William Sneiders scored unassisted goal with 2:35 left in the third quarter to tie the game at 7. Pace scored the final five goals of the game.

Farmingdale State 13, Neumann 3: John McMahon had four goals and an assist to lead Farmingdale State (2-1) in non-conference.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Coast Guard 22, St. Joseph’s (LI) 16: Diana Johnston scored six goals for St. Joseph’s (0-2) in non-conference.

Maryland 17, Hofstra 10: Katie Whelan had five goals and Alyssa Parella added three goals and an assist for Hofstra (2-2) in non-conference.

NYIT 16, STAC 6: Alyssa Milano had six goals and one assist to lead NYIT in its ECC opener. Lexi Ruiz added a goal and a program-record seven assists, according to NYIT athletics.

Stonehill 19, Molloy 10: Brianna Wilson tallied four goals and an assist, and Casie Caiazza added three goals and an assist for Molloy (0-3) in non-conference.

LIU Post 14, Roberts Wesleyan 5: Paige Sherlock scored four goals, Jill LoManto added two goals and three assists and Angela Deren tallied three goals and assist for LIU Post in its ECC opener.

Kean 19, SUNY-Old Westbury 2: Danielle Weir and Natasha Treuman each scored for SUNY-Old Westbury in its non-conference opener.
