Jordan McBride had six goals to lead No. 20 Stony Brook in a 14-11 win over UMBC in America East men's lacrosse yesterday.

McBride's final goal with 3:42 left in the third gave the Seawovles a 12-9 lead. Kevin Crowley had three goals and sophomore Robbie Campbell had a career-high four assists for the visisting Seawolves (6-3, 1-0). The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for Stony Brook against UMBC (1-6, 0-1) and also snapped a 13-game home conference winning streak for UMBC.

Drexel 13, Hofstra 11:Freshman Robert Church scored his seventh goal with 50 seconds left to give host No. 11 Drexel (8-2, 1-0) a 12-11 lead in CAA action. Jamie Lincoln had three goals and three assists and Adrian Scorichetti added three goals for No. 8 Hofstra (5-3, 0-2 CAA). Lincoln scored an unassisted goal with 10:15 left to give the Pride an 11-9 lead. But Drexel answered with four straight goals over the last 8:52. St. John's 11, Rutgers 10:Tom Manes scored a career-high four goals, including two in the final 11:13 as St. John's (4-5, 1-1) overcame a two-goal, fourth-quarter deficit in Big East play. Manes scored the winner with 1:50 left. Manes' third goal came off a feed from Charlie Holenstein with 11:13 left to tie the score at nine. Holenstein finished with three goals and two assists, while Harry Kutner added two goals. Gerhard Buehning scored four goals for host Rutgers (5-3, 1-1). C.W. Post 13, NYIT 11: Nick Coric scored with just over 11 minutes remaining to give C.W. Post (10-0, 5-0 ECC) a 10-9 lead. Austin Carino scored 44 seconds into the third quarter to give host NYIT a 7-6 lead, but the Pioneers responded with three straight goals. Keith Rodriguez had two goals and three assists and Doug Hoch added three goals for Post. No. 7 NYIT is 5-3, 4-2 ECC.

Merrimack 6, Adelphi 5:Greg Melaugh scored with 6:35 left to lift Merrimack (6-1, 4-0 Northeast-10). Kevin Kemp had two goals and an assist and Michael Rossi, Danny Blau and Connor McCann each added a goal for Adelphi (2-3, 1-2). Farmingdale State 27, Penn State-Abigton 1:Bill McGarvey had five goals and one assist and Wes Hubschmitt added two goals and seven assists for Farmingdale State (8-3) in nonconference.

Goucher 11, USMMA 7: Brian Flannery had two goals and two assists and Phil Walker had two goals for USMMA (4-4, 0-1 Landmark). Goucher is 7-3, 2-0.

Nassau CC 11, Anne Arundel CC 6:Owen Campbell had two goals and three assists, James Kiernan had three goals and an assist and Mike Flannery added two goals for Nassau CC (7-1).

Suffolk CC-Brentwood 17, Delaware Tech 8:Doug Quednau had four goals and two assists, Aaron Pinto had three goals and one assist and Rich Carlson added two goals and two assists for Suffolk (6-0).

Dowling 21, Molloy 8:Kevin Sabo had seven goals and John McClure added four goals for Dowling (7-1, 4-1 ECC).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Stony Brook 11, Vermont 10:Melissa Cook scored her third goal of the game on a free position shot with two seconds remaining in regulation to give Stony Brook (3-8, 1-1 America East) the win. Samantha Djaha had three goals and an assist for Stony Brook. Djaha scored with 3:26 remaining in the second half to put Stony Brook up 10-9. Natalie Jones tied the game at 10 with 2:28 remaining for Vermont (2-7, 0-2 AE). Adelphi 23, Bentley 3:Erica De- vito and Elizabeth Fey chipped in four goals and one assist each to lead Adelphi (8-0, 5-0 in Northeast-10). Claire Peter- sen had six assists to go with her one goal. Bentley is 5-3, 2-1.
