Baldwin native and UFC fighter Chris Weidman holds both his championship belt and an honorary belt he was presented with by Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray and Town of Hempstead Councilman James Darcyat Coral House. Weidman was honored by local politicians after he knocked out Anderson Silva, who is widely regarded as the greatest fighter in the sport's history, on July 6 to become the middleweight champion.
