Finding power on the waiver wire isn't as easy compared to recent seasons. That's why Jim Thome is someone that can help you in the power department. He's available in 97 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Part of the reason he is available in so many leagues is Thome hasn't been playing every day and is only eligible at utility.

Delmon Young has made strides and can't be taken out of the lineup and Jason Kubel has come on after a slow start and either way, both Thome and Kubel are lefthanded, so there's no logical platoon.

But the Twins have been using Michael Cuddyer at third base lately and it certainly makes sense from an offensive standpoint. That frees up the designated hitter for Thome and even at age 39, Thome still has power, even if he won't hit for much average.

Thome hit another home run this afternoon, his ninth, in just 121 at-bats. It is the  fourth in his last 18 at-bats. If you are lacking power, Thome is a good option.

UPDATE: Thome has homered in his second at-bat of the game this afternoon. That is No. 10 and his fifth in his last 19 at-bats.
