Blazejowski scores 52 at MSG
Montclair State's Carol Blazejowski scored 52 points in a 102-91 win over Queens College to set a single-game collegiate scoring record (for men or women) at Madison Square Garden. Blazejowski, nicknamed "Blaze," ended her collegiate career as the leading scorer in women's Division I college basketball history, with 3,199 points (31.7 points-per-game). Enshrined in the basketball hall of fame in 1994, she went on to serve as general manager and then president of the Liberty from 1997-2010.
