Fake sports, real sports, and everything in between: in every which way, the new Nassau Coliseum expects to have a full slate of events to satisfy Long Island fans.
Monday Night Raw — the WWE’s Monday prime time cable offering — will have its new Coliseum debut on April 10, kicking off an ever-developing series of sporting events at the NYCB Live’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Here’s what to expect so far:
•April 14: The Harlem Globetrotters, 7 p.m. Fans who bought tickets to the since-cancelled April 11 show can redeem them then.
•April 21-23: Monster Jam Triple Threat Series
•July 22: UFC. The first UFC event on Long Island, no fights have been announced yet.
•Sept. 23-24: Professional Bull Riding.
•Nov. 11: Stony Brook men’s basketball, vs. Maryland.
•Dec. 22: Hofstra men’s basketball, vs. Villanova.
•Jan. 27: MAAC triple-header — Iona College men’s basketball vs. Manhattan College, Fairfield University vs. Quinnipiac University, and Marist College vs. Monmouth University.
The Coliseum will also host the D-League Nets, world championship boxing and hockey (though not the Islanders, as of yet).
