Ryan Madson hits the disabled list
The Phillies lost another closer to the disabled list with Ryan Madson placed on the 15-day DL with a bruised hand retroactive to June 19. Madson has done a terrific job as the closer converting 15 of 16 save opportunities after Brad Lidge and Jose Contreras were injured. He has a 34/11 K/BB ratio in 31 innings a 2.03 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
Brad Lidge is expected to be out for a few more weeks, so Antonio Bastardo will likely get most of the save chances. He should be owned in all leagues. In 28 innings, Bastardo has a 33/13 K/BB ratio, 0.96 ERA and 0.86 WHIP.
