SOCCERLibya's national team victorious
Hundreds of joyful Libyans cheered and fired off celebratory gunshots in Tripoli's main square yesterday after the national soccer team won in its first match since rebels toppled Moammar Gadhafi's regime and forced the longtime leader into hiding. The Libyan team, wearing the colors of the rebel flag and playing in neighboring Egypt, won its African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Mozambique, 1-0.

Trio leads Deutsche Bank
Masters champion Charl Schwartzel turned some anger into a streak of birdies that put him atop the leader board with Adam Scott and Bubba Watson at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass. Schwartzel was so mad at making a bogey on the par-5 18th that he bashed a driver on No. 1 that set up birdie. He followed with five more birdies on the next six holes and shot another 66.

Power takes Baltimore pole
Will Power used a late surge to earn his seventh pole of the season, at the Baltimore Grand Prix, a point in the Izod IndyCar Series standings and some peace of mind heading into today's race on a difficult street course.

Macedonia wins Euro crown
Bo McCalebb, born and raised in New Orleans, scored 27 points to lead Macedonia to a 72-58 upset of Greece at the European Championship in Siauliai, Lithuania.
