Out of hospital, Beljan retains lead

Charlie Beljan went against a doctor's recommendation that he not play golf, and he's glad he did. One day after Beljan endured a panic attack that caused a spike in blood pressure and made him fear for his life, he managed just fine yesterday in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He had a 1-under 71 that gave him a two-shot lead going into the final round at Disney and a chance to do more than just keep his card. The 28-year-old rookie now is one round from winning. Beljan slept for about only an hour overnight at a hospital. Despite a pair of early bogeys, he bounced back with three birdies and finished at 13-under 203. He was two shots ahead of Brian Gay, Josh Teater and Charlie Wi. Beljan needs a high finish here, the last tournament of the year, to retain his PGA Tour card.

Park takes lead in Mexico

Inbee Park moved into position for her third victory of the year, shooting a 6-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational at Guadalajara, Mexico. The South Korean player had a 15-under 201 total at Guadalajara Country Club. Cristie Kerr was second after a 67.

Klitschko retains his titles

Wladimir Klitschko retained his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles, unanimously outpointing Poland's Mariusz Wach in Hamburg, Germany. The 6-foot-7 1/2 Wach was the tallest opponent Klitschko has faced in his 16-year professional career, but offered little threat against the faster Ukrainian. The judges scored it 120-107, 120-107 and 119-109 for Klitschko.
