Bubba retains lead

Bubba Watson dropped three shots in a five-hole stretch in the third round of the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass., Sunday, but he still managed a 1-under-par 70 for a one-shot lead going into the final round of the second PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoff event. Adam Scott and Jason Day were among five players tied for second. Luke Donald, the No. 1 player in the world, was in a large group two shots behind. Phil Mickelson (63) and is four shots back.

Back-to-back wins for Bjorn

Thomas Bjorn won back-to-back titles for the first time in his career, shooting 9-under 62 to take the European Tour's European Masters in Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland by four strokes. Bjorn finished with a 20 under total of 264.

Texas A&M, UWV roll

Host Texas A&M thumped SMU, 46-14. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was 21-for-26 passing for 246 yards and two touchdowns for the No. 8 Aggies and teammate Cyrus Gray rushed for 132 yards on 21 carries . . . Geno Smith (26-for-35, 249 yards) threw two first-half touchdown passes and Tavon Austin returned a kickoff for a score as No. 24 West Virginia beat visiting Marshall, 34-13, in a game that was stopped early in the fourth quarter because of lightning.

Bolt anchors record relay

Usain Bolt, in his closing race of the world championships in Daegu, South Korea, anchored Jamaica to a world record in the 4 x 100-meter relay. One day after winning gold in the 200, Bolt crossed the line for a team time of 37.04 seconds -- the only world record in nine days of competition.
