U.S. teen Korda takes Aussie Open
American Jessica Korda, 18, won the Women's Australian Open Sunday for her first LPGA Tour title, holing a 25-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a six-way playoff in Melbourne. Korda's father, Petr Korda, won the 1998 Australian Open tennis tournament, also in Melbourne. Korda closed with a 1-over-par 74 to finish at 3-under 289 at Royal Melbourne. Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Julieta Granada, So Yeon Ryu and Hee Kyung Seo also were in the playoff.
Pavin gets first senior title
Corey Pavin made a 12-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to defeat Peter Senior and win the Allianz Championship for his first Champions Tour title at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fla. Mark Calcavecchia bogeyed six of his last seven holes to finish tied for seventh after a 73 . . . Rafael Cabrera-Bello, ranked 119th in the world, shot 4-under 68 to beat Lee Westwood and Stephen Gallacher by a stroke for his second European Tour victory, in the Dubai Desert Classic.
Red Wings earn 20th home win in row
Henrik Zetterberg scored to tie the game late in the second period and assisted on Johan Franzen's go-ahead goal 52 seconds into the third as the Detroit Red Wings tied the NHL record for consecutive home victories at 20, with a 4-3 win over Philadelphia. The 1975-76 Flyers and 1929-30 Bruins also won 20 in a row at home.
Bryant spurs Lakers
Kobe Bryant (27 points) hit a jump shot with 4.2 seconds left and the Lakers wrapped up a six-game road trip by holding on to beat Toronto, 94-92 . . . Rajon Rondo had a triple-double with 32 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds to lead host Boston to a 95-91 win over Chicago. The Bulls were without star guard Derrick Rose, who was sidelined with a back injury . . . LeBron James scored 23 points and Miami blew out host Atlanta, 107-87.-- AP
