Hofstra falls at Mason

Shante Evans scored 17 points, sophomore Candace Bond had a career-high 15 and Kate Loper added 13 in Hofstra's 76-70 Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball loss to George Mason (11-11, 5-6) in Fairfax, Va. Hofstra is 13-9, 5-6.

Rajon Rondo scored 26 points as host Boston improved to 23-4 at home with a 91-80 victory Orlando . . . Dwyane Wade had 28 points to lead host Miami's 97-79 win over the Clippers. Blake Griffin had 21 points and 16 rebounds for his 42nd double-double of the season . . . Dahntay Jones had 18 points to lead visiting Indiana over the Nets, 105-86. Forsberg returning

Peter Forsberg, the former league MVP, signed a contract with the Colorado Avalanche. The 37-year-old said: "The first couple of practices were tough. Guys were flying around you and I felt like I was 47 instead of 37." He last played for Colorado late in the 2007-08 season . . . In NHL action Sunday, Ilya Kovalchuk scored a pair of goals as the visiting Devils beat Montreal, 4-1 . . .
