Nats send Harper to Triple-A
The Washington Nationals optioned 19-year-old outfielder Bryce Harper to Triple-A Syracuse where he can get experience in centerfield. Nationals manager Davey Johnson said after the team's 11-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers Sunday that the timing wasn't right for the No. 1 pick in the 2010 draft to make the team out of training camp. Harper was 8-for-28 (. 286) in the Grapefruit League, including a 1-for-5 performance Sunday -- he struck out in his first four at-bats, then doubled.

Jockey Dominguez hurt at Aqueduct
Ramon Dominguez, the nation's leading rider the last two years, suffered a dislocated collarbone in a spill at Aqueduct. He was thrown to the track in the eighth race when the filly Mob Wife fell in the stretch. Suave N Sassy crashed into Mob Wife, unseating apprentice Samuel Camacho Jr. Dominguez was able to walk off to an ambulance; Camacho was removed on a stretcher. X-rays on Camacho were negative. He hopes to resume riding Wednesday. There was no timetable for Dominguez's return.
Wade leads Heat past Magic
Dwyane Wade scored 14 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter, Bosh made his first six shots and finished with 23 and the Heat held off the Orlando Magic, 91-81, for their 13th straight win at home. LeBron James finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and five steals for the Heat. His pass with 3:46 left made it past two Magic defenders and set up Bosh for perhaps the clincher, a three-point play that stretched Miami's lead to 84-73.
Nuggets re-sign Chandler
The Nuggets agreed to a five-year deal with former Knick Wilson Chandler that's worth nearly $37 million. Chandler played overseas for Zhejiang Guangsha of the Chinese Basketball Association during the lockout, averaging nearly 27 points and 12 rebounds in 32 games. -- AP
