X Games star dies
Professional free skier C.R. Johnson, 26, has died at California's Squaw Valley while taking a run down a steep chute and smashing his head against a rock outcropping. Ski patrol members were unable to revive the skier after they were called shortly before 2 p.m. Johnson competed in superpipe and halfpipe skiing at events such as the X Games.NFL
No charges for Irvin
South Florida prosecutors say they won't file criminal charges against former Cowboys star Michael Irvin after investigating a woman's allegations that she was sexually assaulted by him. The woman filed a lawsuit earlier this month in Broward County Circuit Court claiming Irvin assaulted her in 2007 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
Giants tender Tollefson
Backup defensive end Dave Tollefson received a second-round tender offer from the Giants that could pay the restricted free agent $1.684 million in 2010, his agent said.
