Reports: Haren to Cubs
A person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press Friday night that the Los Angeles Angels have agreed to trade pitcher Dan Haren to the Chicago Cubs for closer Carlos Marmol. The Cubs declined to comment. The Chicago Tribune reported that Marmol has told a Dominican reporter that he has been traded to the Angels.
Ortiz stays with Bosox
A baseball official with knowledge of the negotiations said the Red Sox have agreed to a two-year, $26-million contract with designated hitter David Ortiz . . . The Mets outrighted catcher Mike Nickeas to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Jay Haas tied the Champions Tour record with a 10-under-par 60 to open a five-stroke lead in the Charles Schwab Cup in Scottsdale, Ariz. . . . In the WGC event in Shenzhen, China, Louis Oosthuizen shot 9-under 63 for a five-shot lead over Ernie Els.
