Heat loses for second time
Emeka Okafor had a season-high 26 points and 13 rebounds, and Chris Paul had 13 points and 19 assists as host New Orleans remained unbeaten with a 96-93 victory over Miami on Friday night. Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 28 points to go with 10 rebounds and LeBron James had 20 points and 10 assists for the Heat (4-2). The Hornets are 5-0 . . . Dwight Howard had 30 points and 16 rebounds as host Orlando beat the Nets, 105-90 . . . Kevin Garnett chased down Joakim Noah and tipped the ball away from behind with 14 seconds left in overtime as host Boston held on to beat Chicago, 110-105. Garnett scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds and teammate Ray Allen scored 25 points.
Caps chase goalie
John Carlson scored the tiebreaking goal with 6:35 left and host Washington chased goalie Tim Thomas to beat Boston, 5-3, after blowing a three-goal lead. Alex Ovechkin had an empty-net goal in the final minute to clinch it for the Caps. . . Sharks captain Joe Thornton has been suspended two games under the NHL's new rule on head hits for a shot he made on Blues forward David Perron.

Westwood stays close
New world No. 1 Lee Westwood is in second place, a shot behind Francesco Molinari, after two rounds of the PGA Tour's WGC-HSBC Champions tournament at the par-72 Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China. Molinari (70) has a two-day total of 135, a shot ahead of Westwood (70). Tiger Woods (72) and Phil Mickelson (71) are five shots back . . . . Defending champion John Cook shot a 2-under 69 at Harding Park in San Francisco to take a one-stroke lead over Tom Kite and Tom Lehman in the Champions Tour's Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
BASEBALL
Honus Wagner card sold
The rare Honus Wagner baseball card that had been bequeathed to an order of Roman Catholic nuns in Baltimore was auctioned off to collector Doug Walton, 35, of Knoxville, Tenn., for $262,000. The Wagner card, produced as part of the T206 series between 1909 and 1911, is the most sought-after baseball card in history. One in near-perfect condition sold in 2007 for $2.8 million.
