Woods rallies to shoot 68

Tiger Woods ran off three straight birdies early in his round and survived a bumpy patch in the middle for a 3-under-par 68 Friday in the Frys.com Open in San Martin, Calif. He was seven shots behind leader Paul Casey. Woods at least will make it to the weekend, ending a streak of six straight rounds in which he failed to break par. He has played so little this year that it was the first time since the Masters that he made a 36-hole cut.

The union is seeking a session with league negotiators before Monday's deadline to avoid canceling games. Commissioner David Stern has said the first two weeks would be canceled without a deal by Monday.
