Teen Thompson could set age record
Teenager Lexi Thompson shot 5-under-par 67 in the Navistar LPGA Classic Saturday and is in position to become the youngest player to win an LPGA tournament. Thompson, who turned 16 in February, is at 15-under 201 and has a five-stroke lead heading into the final round in Prattville, Ala. Paula Creamer set the age record when she won in 2005 at age 18. South Korea's Meena Lee is second, and Tiffany Joh, Karen Stupples and Becky Morgan are tied for third at 8-under 208.
Justin Rose kept it simple even as Cog Hill got a little harder, making only one bogey in his 2-under 69 that gave him a four-shot lead going into the final round of the BMW Championship in Lemont, Ill. Mark Wilson, who started the day tied for the lead, shot 77.

Serbia and France won doubles matches to stay alive in the Davis Cup semifinals after being swept in the opening singles. Defending champion Serbia is hoping U.S. Open winner Novak Djokovic will be healthy enough to help complete a comeback against Argentina in reverse singles Sunday in Belgrade. Rafael Nadal will try to send Spain to victory over France. France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra routed Spain's Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0. Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki beat Juan Ignacio Chela and Juan Monaco, 7-6 (4), 6-4, 6-2.

Rodgers paces Red Bulls
Luke Rodgers scored in the 36th minute and the Red Bulls hung on to defeat FC Dallas, 1-0, in Frisco, Texas, to snap an eight-game winless streak. Goalkeeper Frank Rost made three saves for his second shutout of the season. -- AP
