Edwards wins at Road America
Carl Edwards swooped past Jacques Villeneuve on a restart with nine laps to go, then ran away from the field yesterday to win the NASCAR Nationwide series race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. Villeneuve made a wild charge to the lead with 12 laps to go. But another caution bunched up the field, allowing Edwards to make his decisive move.

Daly four off lead in Nationwide event
John Daly was four strokes off the lead after shooting a 1-under 69 in the third round of the Fort Smith Classic in Fort Smith, Ark.
Josh Broadaway (65) moved to the top of the leader board at the 6,873-yard Hardscrabble Country Club course. He led by one stroke at 11 under.
Daly started well with birdies on Nos. 2 and 3 and was within one stroke of the lead, but the two-time major champion bogeyed three of his final 12 holes. Daly began the day tied for fifth but ended in a tie for 13th at 7 under.
South Korea's Hur leads Creamer
South Korea's M.J. Hur has the lead after two rounds of the ShopRite LPGA Classic with comeback kid Paula Creamer right behind.
Hur birdied the 18th hole for a 7-under 64 and one-stroke lead over Creamer heading into the final round of the $1.5 million tournament, just miles from the Atlantic City casino resort.

Paddy O'Prado captures Colonial Turf Cup
Paddy O'Prado ($5) went wide coming out of the turn and won the $500,000 Colonial Turf Cup at Colonial Downs in Providence Forge, Va.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Miller's goal leads Fury
Charlotte Miller scored off an assist by Amanda Rooney in the 61st minute to lead the visiting Fury (5-2) to a 1-0 victory over the Buxmount (Pa.) Torch (3-3) for first place in the Central of the WPSL.
