Drew to coach Hawks?
A person familiar with the situation says that the Atlanta Hawks are poised to hire Larry Drew as their next head coach. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team is still working out details of the hiring on Friday. Drew was an assistant under former coach Mike Woodson, who was fired after the Hawks were swept out of the playoffs by the Orlando Magic.TENNIS
Nadal ousted at Queens Club
Rafael Nadal was dealt a setback in his Wimbledon preparations when he lost at the Queen's Club grass-court tournament. The French Open champion fell, 7-6 (5), 6-4, to compatriot Feliciano Lopez in the quarterfinals, Andy Murray was another surprise loser when he went down 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (2) to the American Mardy Fish.

Ex-Wings coach Kromm dies
Former Detroit Red Wings coach Bobby Kromm has died. The Fred Wood Funeral Home in Livonia, near Detroit, said Kromm died Wednesday, one day after his 82nd birthday. The team says on its Web site the cause was complications from colon cancer. Kromm led the NHL franchise from 1977-78 to 1980. The team's 32-34-14 record and its second-place Norris Division finish and playoff appearance in his first season earned Kromm the Jack Adams Award for coach of the year. - AP
