Sandusky to be sentenced Oct. 9
Judge John Cleland announced yesterday that he will sentence former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky on Oct. 9 in Bellefonte, Pa., nearly four months after the retired assistant football coach was convicted of 45 counts of sex abuse involving 10 boys. Sandusky, 68, has been in jail pending sentencing, and it is expected that he will receive a sentence that will keep in jail for the rest of his life.
Just before sentencing, Cleland will preside over a hearing to determine if Sandusky should be classified as a sexually violent predator.
