NBARondo gets two-game ban
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended two games without pay by the NBA for throwing a ball at an official during a game.
Stu Jackson, the NBA's executive vice president for basketball operations, announced the suspension yesterday, one day after Rondo received two technical fouls and was ejected late in the third quarter of Boston's 96-81 loss at the Detroit Pistons.
Rose returns to lead Bulls
Derrick Rose, who missed the previous five games because of back pain, had 23 points, six assists and five rebounds to lead the host Bulls to a 90-79 victory over the Hawks . . . Tony Parker scored 23 points as the Spurs defeated the host Jazz, 106-102, for their 11th consecutive victory. The Spurs played without guard Manu Ginobili, who is expected to miss two weeks with a strained left oblique.
Oden has microfracture surgery
Trail Blazers center Greg Oden had microfracture surgery on his left knee, more involved than what originally was to be an arthroscopic procedure. The Trail Blazers said that the oft-injured No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft will not play this season.

Shabazz Napier swished a 29-footer with 0.6 seconds left in overtime, and Jeremy Lamb scored a career-high 32 points to help Connecticut beat host Villanova, 73-70.
Prahalis: 16 points, 8 assists in loss
In women's basketball, host No. 11 Penn State beat No. 8 Ohio State, 84-66, clinching at least a share of its first Big Ten title since 2004. Samantha Prahalis had 16 points and eight assists for Ohio State.
Chiefs: $19.6M deal with Routt
The Chiefs agreed to a three-year, $19.6-million deal with cornerback Stanford Routt, who played the past seven years with the Raiders. His signing makes it easier for the Chiefs to deal with possibly losing Brandon Carr, who has been a stalwart opposite Brandon Flowers in the secondary.
