Rory McIlroy birdied his final hole to take a two-stroke lead in the weather-delayed Malaysian Open, and Masters champion Charl Schwartzel barely made the cut. McIlroy moved to 12 under par after nine holes of the third round, which will be resumed Sunday before the start of the final round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
Steele leads in Texas
PGA Tour rookie Brendan Steele birdied Nos. 17 and 18 for a 4-under 68, grabbing sole possession of the Texas Open lead at the TPC San Antonio.
Cook leads seniors
John Cook shot a 6-under 65 take take the lead at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am. Cook sits at 11-under, a shot ahead of Russ Cochran.

Nadal-Ferrer final
Six-time defending champion Rafael Nadal reached the Monte Carlo Masters final, defeating Andy Murray, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Nadal will play David Ferrer in the final. Ferrer defeated Jurgen Melzer, 6-3, 6-2.
U.S. women lose
Without the Williams sisters and playing two teenagers, the United States is on the verge of being relegated from the World Group for the first time after losing both singles matches to host Germany in the Fed Cup playoffs. Andrea Petkovic defeated Christina McHale, 6-3, 6-4, in the opening singles, and Julia Goerges edged 19-year-old Melanie Oudin, 6-2, 7-6 (5), to lead Germany within a point of securing victory in Stuttgart.

Rodgers sparks a win
Luke Rodgers scored his first MLS goals in the second and 15th minutes, and Thierry Henry scored in the 87th as the Red Bulls beat the San Jose Earthquakes, 3-0, at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls ended a three-game winless streak.-- AP
