Henin wins first event

during her comeback

Justine Henin won her first title since coming out of retirement, defeating Samantha Stosur, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, Sunday in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany. The former No. 1's victory on clay will give her a boost three weeks before the start of the French Open. "It means a lot to me on clay," Henin said. Four of Henin's seven major singles titles have come at Roland Garros. Watching Roger Federer win the title last year inspired Henin to end her 18-month retirement. "It brought back the fire," she said at the victory ceremony.

Nadal wins in Rome

Rafael Nadal won his fifth Rome Masters title in six years, withstanding two rain delays to beat fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, 7-5, 6-2. Nadal improved to 10-0 on clay this year and signaled he's back to dominating on his preferred surface after a series of injuries. He won the Monte Carlo Masters two weeks ago to end an 11-month title drought. Bob and Mike Bryan moved within one victory of matching the record for the most doubles titles in the Open Era after beating John Isner and Sam Querrey, 6-2, 6-3, in the final in Rome, the 60th title of their careers.

Four times this season, Jeff Gordon has been in position for a win. Four times he came up short. Kyle Busch became the latest driver to deny Gordon, passing him after the final restart Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway for his first win of the season.
