TENNISClijsters severely injures ankle
Kim Clijsters can't seem to escape injury bad luck. The world's No. 2 player reported on her website Sunday night that she severely injured her right ankle dancing at her cousin's wedding party and will probably miss the French Open. The 27-year-old is the current champion of the U.S. and Australian Opens. The injury was described as torn ligaments, a torn capsule of the ankle joint and a hematoma. The French Open begins May 22.
Wozniacki wins on clay
Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki defeated Elena Vesnina, 6-2, 6-3, to take the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, S.C., her third title this season.

Sebastian Vettel extended his perfect start to the Formula One season by winning the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang, Malaysia, making it back-to-back victories. Vettel, who started from the pole, led throughout and beat McLaren's Jenson Button by 3.2 seconds . . . Will Power started up front and never relinquished his spot to win the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama in Birmingham. The Australian extended his lead in the final laps and finished 3.38 seconds ahead of Scott Dixon, and Dario Franchitti was third. -- APNFL
Judge to order more talks?
As the stalemate continues among the NFL and its players, Federal Judge Susan Nelson may be setting the stage for continued dialogue this week between the two sides. Nelson is expected to tell the two sides early this week what the conditions will be for further mediation. It remains to be seen whether Nelson will serve as the mediator or George Cohen of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services. ESPN's Adam Schefter said on his Twitter account Sunday that Nelson would order the two sides back into mediation this week, though it is not known who would serve as the mediator.
HORSE RACINGPletcher: Uncle Mo 'sound'
Todd Pletcher said Uncle Mo was "physically sound" the day after he suffered his first loss in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct. The trainer called the colt's left front foot injury "minor and insignificant" and said Uncle Mo would have blood tests Tuesday to check on possible issues before or after the race. Pletcher plans to ship Uncle Mo to Churchill Downs next Monday to train for the Kentucky Derby.
