Nets will play two in London

The NBA is taking regular-season games to Europe for the first time. Commissioner David Stern announced Monday that the Nets and Toronto Raptors will play a pair of regular-season games in London this season. The teams will face each other March 4 and 5 at O2 Arena. Stern said on a conference call he wasn't yet sure if the regular-season games would be an annual occurrence. - AP

Sunday night's Bengals-Cowboys Hall of Fame Game averaged 7.6 percent of homes in major markets - the highest "overnight" rating for any NFL preseason game on any network in six years. That nearly tripled the 2.7 percent of homes that watched the Yankees-Red Sox game on ESPN. But the figures were almost exactly reversed in the New York area, where the football game secured a 2.5 rating and baseball did a 7.8.GOLFShon tied for 12th in qualifying

Kelly Shon of Port Washington tied for 12th after the first day of stroke play at the U.S. Women's Amateur at Charlotte (N.C.) Country Club. Shon, who played for the Port Washington High School boys team and qualified for the 2010 boys state championships shot 1-under-par 71. Stroke play continues Tuesday, with the top 64 qualifying for match play Wednesday.COLLEGES

Harris transfers to St. John's

Tesia Harris, older sister of former Half Hollow Hills West All-American Tobias, has transferred to St. John's, the school announced. Harris, who played her first three years at the University of Delaware, will sit out the 2010-11 season per NCAA transfer rules and be eligible for the 2011-12 season. The Red Storm also announced the addition of Boston College transfer Mary Nwachukwu, who won't be eligible to join the Red Storm's roster until the 2011-12 season begins.
