Durant leads Americans

Kevin Durant scored 27 points and the United States held on for a narrow 86-80 victory over Argentina in an exhibition game in Barcelona, Spain. The Americans got off to a hot start but their lead was down to four with 2:50 left after Manu Ginobili's three-point play. But Durant and Chris Paul hit big three-pointers as the United States won after being pushed for the second time in its four exhibition games. Kobe Bryant added 18 points and LeBron James 15.

U.S. women win

After breezing through its first few exhibition games, Geno Auriemma was happy that his U.S. women's basketball team was tested. Seimone Augustus and Diana Taurasi each scored 16 points to lead Team USA to an 80-61 victory over Turkey in Istanbul. Where the first three exhibitions were pretty much over in the first quarter, Turkey hung tough for 30 minutes before the United States slowly started to pull away.

TENNISRoddick a winner

Andy Roddick beat Gilles Muller, 1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2, to win the Atlanta Open and earn his 32nd ATP World Tour title. After taking the Eastbourne title before Wimbledon, Roddick has won two of his past three events.

POLICEDetroit's Berry arrested

Detroit Lions cornerback Aaron Berry has been arrested for the second time this offseason. Cpl. Kyle Gautsch of the Harrisburg (Pa.) Police Department says Berry was taken into custody early Saturday morning on three charges of simple assault. Gautsch said there "was a weapon allegedly brandished during the incident." Berry, who is from Harrisburg, was also arrested in that area June 23 on suspicion of DUI, failure to stop and render aid from an accident and other counts. -- AP
