St. John's foursome

leads win over Rutgers

Shenneika Smith (15 points) was one of four St. John's players to reach double figures in a 60-52 win at Rutgers last night that snapped a 17-game losing streak against the Scarlet Knights. Kelly McManmon and Da'Shena Stevens had 12 points each and Nadirah McKenith added 11 for the No. 18 Red Storm (22-5, 10-4 Big East). Rutgers is 15-13, 7-7.

New Haven 66, Adelphi 56:Nicole Pollard had 15 points and seven assists to lead New Haven (13-14, 11-11 NE-10). Ashley Caiafa had 21 points and six rebounds for Adelphi (4-23, 1-21).

St. Thomas Aquinas 67, C.W. Post 61:Janea Aiken had 18 points and four assists and Felicia Joyner added 13 points for C.W. Post (18-8, 13-7 ECC). St. Thomas Aquinas is 15-11, 11-9.

Bridgeport 78, Queens 67:Jamie DiHiara (10 assists), Chloe Johnson and Jennifer Robbins each had 14 points for Queens (6-20, 6-14). Shannon Malone led Bridgeport (18-8, 15-5) with 18.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

C.W. Post 74, St. Thomas Aquinas 40: Nemanja Jokic had 16 points on 8-for-11 from the field and had six rebounds and six assists for C.W. Post (21-5, 17-3 ECC). St. Thomas Aquinas is 6-20, 5-15.

Adelphi 79, New Haven 48:Steffon Farley had 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to lead Adelphi (19-10, 12-10 NE-10). Richard Byrd added 20 points and six rebounds. Cassius Chaney had 15 points for New Haven (5-22, 5-17).

Dowling 64, NYIT 59:David Seagers scored 27 points on 10-for-17 shooting to lead Dowling (9-18, 9-12 ECC). Dominic Scurry led NYIT (12-15, 9-11) with 12 points.

Molloy 100, Mercy 75:Harley Fuller scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds and seven assists for Molloy (12-16, 10-10 ECC). Gerald Fitts led Molloy with 25 points and Brian Hutchinson added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Mercy is 1-26, 1-19.
