The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team allowed nine unanswered goals and lost to American, 14-10, Saturday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

The Seawolves scored the first four goals of the game, including two by freshman Jessica Romano, and Melissa Cook's team-leading 11th goal of the season gave Stony Brook a 10-5 lead. But Lisa Schaaf's goal with 10 minutes left proved to be the game-winner.

Cook had two goals and two assists and Jackie Hughes and Victoria Cable also scored twice for Stony Brook. Emily Stankiewicz and Lauren Schoenberger each had three goals for American.
