SWR baseball coach Mignano earns 500th win

Shoreham-Wading River baseball coach Sal Mignano earned his 500th career victory Friday in a 10-3 Suffolk League VI win over Sayville. Mignano is 500-291 in his 34th season, all at SWR.

He is the third coach in Suffolk to achieve the mark. Mignano has won nine league titles, six county championships and a state Class B title in 1987.

Ryan McAlary threw a seven-hitter for SWR (7-2), giving up two earned runs and striking out eight. Matt Kneisel was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Kevin Davis went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Sayville is 6-3.
