Ewing scores 51 in loss to Boston
Patrick Ewing scored a career-high 51 points as the Knicks fell to the Celtics, 115-110, at Madison Square Garden. Ewing, who hit 20 field goals, scored 32 of the Knicks' 62 first-half points and tied his previous high of 45 with 11:21 left. The Hall of Famer's total was the sixth best in the team's 44-year history. He also had 18 rebounds. However, the Celtics went on a 19-6 run to take a 102-97 lead with 3:59 left. The loss was the Knicks' sixth straight and dropped them 3 ½ games behind the first-place 76ers.
