Woods' 32 points lead Nassau CC

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Nassau CC 89, Suffolk CC 81: Mike Woods had 32 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to lead fourth-seeded Nassau CC over No. 5 Suffolk CC in the Region XV men's basketball semifinals, yesterday.

Jefferson Guillaume added 23 points and 16 rebounds. Nassau CC (21-8) plays the winner of Sullivan/Suffolk CC-Selden at 7:30 tonight at Westchester CC.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Hofstra 54, Northeastern 37: Shante Evans had 13 points, 11 rebounds and four assists to lead Hofstra (18-11, 11-6 CAA). Candice Bellocchio added 13 points, four assists and three steals in the win. Brittany Wilson scored 11 points for Northeastern (12-16, 7-10). Seniors Jess Fuller (12 points, six blocks, 4 rebounds) and Sam Brigham (6 points) played their final regular season home game at the Mack Sports Complex.

MEN'S LACROSSE

NYIT 10, St. Anselm 9: Austin Carino scored the winner off an assist from Ryan Bagnasco with 55 seconds left for NYIT (1-0). Carino had five goals and Bagnasco added two goals and two assists. Conor O'Donnell tied the score with 1:49 left for St. Anselm (0-1).

USMMA 8, Fairleigh Dickinson 7: Brian Flannery scored off an assist from Phil Walker 2:27 into overtime to win it for USMMA (1-0). Zach Gray had five goals and Adam Jerlow added three assists. Seth Molek tied the score late in the fourth quarter for Fairleigh Dickinson (0-2).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Adelphi 21, Belmont Abbey 6: Erica DeVito had six goals and an assist to lead Adelphi (2-0). Marissa Mills added five goals and an assist. Caitlin Fitzpatrick made 15 saves. Brianna Dignan had three goals for Belmont Abbey (1-1).

BASEBALL

Florida State 14, Hofstra 4: Junstin Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBIs to lead No. 2 Florida State (6-0). Elliot Hagburg went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI for Hofstra (0-6).

SOFTBALL

Hofstra 6, Mississippi Valley State 4: Jess Hirschbuhl went 1-for-1 with two RBIs to lead Hofstra (9-1), which tied its best record ever through 10 games (1994). Jasmine Wilson and Angelia Jones each hit two-run homers for Mississippi Valley State (4-7).
