Connecting caring communities and companies on Long Island
Newsday’s Together Long Island is a grassroots movement to bring companies, causes and communities together to build a better Long Island. It serves as a forum for celebrating community activism, corporate social responsibility, and charitable contribution. Long Island companies, such as the Long Island Association, have seen the need and are stepping up their efforts as founding partners with Newsday in the Together Long Island initiative. Long Island Association
In 2026, the Long Island Association (LIA) marks its 100th Anniversary and a century of advocating for businesses, strengthening our regional economy, and championing growth for a prosperous future on Long Island. The LIA was established as the voice of the business community and has shepherded progress in Nassau and Suffolk Counties through regional leadership, peer to peer relationships and policy advocacy.
For nearly 100 years, the Long Island Association (LIA) has been a champion of Long Island's business community. A membership organization, the LIA leads and unifies the business community on Long Island to ensure economic vitality and guarantee the future success of the region.
The Long Island Association started a Small Business Support Program in 2022 and over the past two years has distributed $500,000 in grants through its charitable arm, the LIA Foundation, made possible by the generosity of funding from Optimum Business.
