A new concession offers a modern twist on Asbury Park's century-old tradition: swan boats on Wesley Lake. Asbury Park Pedal Boats on Lake Avenue opened this season, bringing white swans, cheery dragons, a pelican and a very popular black swan to the rejuvenated music and beach destination. The fiberglass pedal boats ply the lake's shallow waters and give vistitors a fine view of Asbury Park's old Carousel House and the Victorian splendor of Ocean Grove.

A ride costs $20 for a half-hour with three aboard, $18 for two. The concession is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. weekends, weather permitting. In fall, swans will be out on weekends through October. Details at asburyparkpedalboats.com
