While checking out the offerings on Overstock.com during the weekend, I happened upon a "vacations" link. Incredulous, I clicked, and sure as Costco sells coffins, I found a slew of deals for upscale travel spots.
Still in Beta, the site -- vacations.overstock.com -- is hawking a 4-day, 3-night stay at the 4-star Le Vitral Baires in Buenos Aires for a mere $133.99 per person, and a 3-day, 2-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas for $222.99. Googling and poking around sites like Orbitz, Expedia, etc., did not turn up any deals that came close.
In total, there are currently 29 hotel stays up for grabs, including vacations in Paris, Mexico, NYC, Hollywood, Texas, San Francisco, Boston, London and Madrid. Discounts of 30 percent to 40 percent are promised, but some even looked a little better. And you can sign up to have deals emailed, though it isn't clear whether this is weekly, daily or what.
